Occidental Vacation Club Receives RCI Gold Crown Ratings
It's an honor to announce that Occidental Vacation Club has been awarded the coveted RCI Gold Crown rating for 10 of our resorts!
The term Gold Crown resort is reserved for the highest standard vacation / timeshare resorts within the Resort Condominiums International (RCI) exchange network. In most cases the RCI Gold Crown Resorts provide the owner the highest trading power within the RCI exchange network. In addition to other ranking qualities, the final Gold Crown designation is achieved only through actual Guest Comments with point ratings that must be higher than 4.4 out of 5.

RCI is a global provider of leisure travel services to businesses and consumers, and the global leader in vacation exchange. Today, RCI has approximately 3.8 million members worldwide, who enjoy dream vacations at RCI's more than 4000 affiliated resorts.
Those resorts designated by RCI for this highest designation are: Occidental Grand Flamenco Punta Cana, Occidental Allegro Playacar, Occidental Allegro Cozumel, Occidental Grand Cozumel, Occidental Grand Flamenco Xcaret, Occidental Grand Nuevo Vallarta, Occidental Grand Aruba, Occidental Grand Papagayo, Occidental First Club Allegro Playacar, and Occidental First Club Allegro Cozumel.
According to Luis Namnum, President of Occidental Vacation Club, “Receiving this award is a great honor. We are proud to be affiliated with RCI and glad to welcome the thousands of members who exchange their time to visit our resorts in paradise. The Gold Crown standard comes with hard work and a team of hospitality professionals who are dedicated to making sure our guests have wonderful vacations. The warm service at our resorts also played a significant role in our recent Trip Advisor Certificates awarded to six of our properties.
“Not only are we located in spectacular tropical areas with plenty of sun and fun, we also work hard to make every aspect of our all-inclusive vacations enjoyable for visitors from around the world,” he said.

Paris and the Van Rooyens
A year before Nector Tejada was named winner of our Share the Joy raffle, the Van Rooyen family was preparing to receive a prize of their own: an all expense paid trip to Paris!
It all started the day we received the following comment: "We are leaving. To Paris. In a few hours! Thank you sooo much Occidental Vacation Club and Christopher N. for drawing us in the Share the Joy raffle!"
A week after, we received this picture.

Nector Tejada went to London!
When we launched our Share the Joy program we knew exactly what we wanted: provide our members new and unforgettable vacation experiences by sharing what they love about their membership with friends and family. Every year we give away an incredible vacation week for all those who participate in our Share the Joy program. Our last raffle was an all expense paid trip to the London Olympics, and Nector Tejada, from the Dominican Republic was the happy winner!
He and his son Sterling spent a whole week walking around London and enjoying the Olympics spirit.
"I'd like to thank Occidental Vacation Club for the opportunity to travel to London. We had a lot of fun, London is a beautiful city. We visited many of London towers, St. Paul Church... it has amazing architecture. And the Olympics were very exciting! We had the chance to see a boxing competition. It was a great experience. Thank you, OVC, for making it happen".

Occidental Hotels Awarded Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor
For excellence in hospitality and service, and for consistently receiving the outstanding ratings from our guests, five Occidental Hotels & Resorts properties were honored with the Certificate of Excellence 2012 by TripAdvisor.
Occidental Grand Xcaret, Grand Cozumel, Grand Nuevo Vallarta, Grand Aruba and Occidental El Embajador are the five Occidental Hotels & Resorts properties that this year became part of the exclusive group of hotels and resorts to be awarded with the Certificate of Excellence.
It is our goal to constantly provide our members and guests with outstanding service and superior accommodations. This award gives us another reason to keep innovating and offering higher quality service.

The Poferls at “The Masters”
The Masters Tournament, also known as The Masters, is one of the four major championships in professional golf. Scheduled for the first full week of April in Augusta, Georgia, this classic event is the first of the majors to be played each year.
Last week we raffled a pair of tickets to the Practice Rounds at the Masters, courtesy of RCI and Luis Namnun, our president. Winners were chosen amongst those who participated through our Facebook Fan Page.

Nector Tejada, winner of a trip to London Olympics
From the Dominican Republic, Nector Tejada is the winner of an all expense paid trip for two to the 2012 London Olympic Games! He shared the joy of his vacations with friends and will light up the Olympic Torch inside his heart.
Nector is our 2011 final Share the Joy Winner, and his prize can't be more special.
